Planting: Dahlias are typically planted in the spring after the last frost when the soil has warmed up. You can also start tubers indoors a few weeks before the last expected frost to get a head start on the growing season. Choose a well-drained, sunny location for planting dahlias. They prefer full sun. If you're planting more than one dahlia, space them according to the recommended distance for the specific variety. Water the area well after planting to settle the soil.
Plant Care: Water at the base of the plant to avoid getting the foliage wet, which can contribute to fungal diseases. Dahlias can grow tall and may need support to prevent them from flopping over.
